Nuriootpa Town Band was established in 1880 (138 years ago) as a Brass Band and has enjoyed great success in music and marching competitions over many years. In 2008, Nuriootpa Town Band recognised the value in including woodwind players and became a concert band. The band maintains its marching tradition and marches at many of the bands engagements. The band draws players from all over the Barossa and Light region , with some players coming from Adelaide. In 2018 the band will focus on involving younger players, by establishing links with the local primary schools music programs and purchasing contemporary music that is accessible for younger players. The bands goal is to have at least five primary school aged players marching as band members in the 2018 Credit Union Christmas Pageant.
Please come and see some of the proud history of the Nuriootpa Town Band and meet some of the players at this inaugural event organised by the Nuriootpa Futures Association.
